POSITION:

Lead Enterprise Architect

 

 

 

 

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

At least eight years of increasing responsibility in technical IT architect role with at least five years of intense experience as a technical/leader architect, and/or systems architect in designing and constructing robust enterprise-level solutions.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent years of related work experience.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

·          Create effective frameworks and processes for establishing an enterprise architecture practice

·          Broad technical skills across multiple domains and platforms (client-server, web-based, etc.)

·          Proficient with application and integration technology design, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services (including SOAP, HTTP)

·          Ability to design and develop technical infrastructures for SOA based architecture/applications, web services to ensure optimal use of shared services and code reuse

·          Proficient in at least one major integration technologies and configuration of SOA platform (IBM, Oracle, etc.)

·          Knowledge of Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Servlets, JMS, JDBC, SOAP Web Services, XSLT

·          Ability to see the big picture but also navigate through the details

·          Knowledge of disaster recovery and high availability technology preferred.

·          Exposure to Performance Monitoring and bottleneck analysis tools preferred

·          Experience with automated testing tools (HP LoadRunner Version 11) preferred

·          TOGAF certification is preferred.

·          Experience with WebSphere MQ, Message Broker, Oracle Weblogic/AQ JMS and OSB is desired.

·       Communication – effective listening, speaking, and writing.

·       Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties.

 

 

SOME DUTIES:

·          Provides thought leadership in technology direction by evaluating new technologies and provides guidance on their adoption to the broader technology organization.

·          Creates technology policy and standards, framework, and direction for complex systems across multiple architectural layers, business domains and delivery teams by implementing best practices.

·          Effectively influences, negotiates and leads technology initiatives, alternatives, evaluations and implementations.

·          Creates a strategy and corresponding roadmaps for integration of the Oracle Retail Systems with Academy's heterogeneous enterprise systems.

·          Responsible for related activates to the development, implementation, performance tuning and integration of enterprise solutions ensuring long term reliability, scalability, availability, integrity and maintainability.

·          Develops and enforces architectural standards and guidelines using best practices and assists with the adoption of these standards.

·          Actively participates in projects, support, and development initiatives, designing solutions that optimally address current and future business requirements and infrastructure plans.

·          Creates architecture design, development, and implementations for interfaces between Oracle Retail Systems, IBM systems and other applications/platforms via Enterprise Service Bus (WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Message Broker, Oracle Integration Technologies).

·          Champions the appropriate use of technology and provides leadership in balancing technical elegance with functional requirements and practical benefits, as we implement and integrate technologies.

·          Provides coordination across technical teams to encourage application of standards and adherence to standards based on methodologies.

·          Acts as mentor and coach to key technical staff.

·          Required to learn company policies, procedures and safety rules.
